Preliminary Task

Feedback from Preliminary Task :

  • Good range of shots (over the shoulder, feet shot, 2 shot )
  • Continuity was clean from shot to shot , however could be improved (tighter frames)
  • Didn't break the 180 degrees rule
  • Good use of music, to create a relaxed happy vibe.
  • Good match on action with the door
  • Continuity maintained throughout- 180 degrees adhered to
  • think about lighting for the main task
  • later shots need tighter frames
  • Continuity ( maybe more smooth ) in transaction
  • More of a Background story
  • Funny

Key Feedback points :

  1. Many people liked the clean continuity from the open clip but felt the later on frames need to be tighter, especially when the dialogue starts there needs to be a pause from the non diegetic sound playing. Many people pointed out that the music needed to fade out a couple of frames before-hand.
  2. Many of the audience felt that the shot variety was good but there needed to be more light in the frame, I do agree that the shot were dark and the use of studio light may have brighten up the shot when mike was walking through the door.
  3. I feel that the quality of the camera was not to standard . In the main task we will be uses a Canon 6D which is far supreme filming quality compared to the standard definition camcorder that we were using.
  4. People mentioned that there was not real a background story in are preliminary task therefore to structure is better we will need to do a shot-by-shot break down to make sure that this is addressed in are main task.
